Method
How we work
A software project goes well when both sides know at all times what is being done, why and how much is left. This is our method, with no small print.
SummaryDGX method
- Phases
- 5, in order
- Deliveries
- Every 2–3 weeks
- Price
- Fixed per phase
- Contact
- Always the same person
Phases
Five phases and what you get in each one
You can stop at the end of any phase and keep what has been delivered. That way nobody is tied to a project they are not happy with.
-
Phase 01
Analysis
We meet with management and with the people who will use the software. We go through the real process —not the one in the manual—, gather documents, examples and exceptions, and sketch the main screens.
What you receive
- Summary of the current process
- Prioritised list of needs
- Sketches of the key screens
-
Phase 02
Fixed proposal
We turn the analysis into a concrete proposal: which modules are built, in what order, in how many deliveries and for how much. If something does not fit the budget, we say so and suggest alternatives.
What you receive
- Scope by module
- Delivery schedule
- Fixed price per phase
-
Phase 03
Development in deliveries
We program in short cycles. Every two or three weeks you have a working version in a test environment to use with real data and tell us what you would change.
What you receive
- Test version at each delivery
- Notes on what it includes
- Direct channel with the team
-
Phase 04
Launch
We migrate the data you already have, install the system on the final server and train your team. In the first days we pay particular attention so we can answer questions straight away.
What you receive
- Migrated and checked data
- Team training
- Source code and documentation
-
Phase 05
Support
After launch there is a warranty period to fix any fault. After that, if you wish, we continue with a maintenance plan: security, backups, improvements and support with agreed response times.
What you receive
- Warranty period
- Optional maintenance plan
- Regular reports
Ground rules
What you can expect from us
- We will say no when something does not make sense, even if it is part of the budget.
- No change of scope is charged unless you have approved it in writing first.
- You will see real progress at each delivery, not percentage reports.
- The code is yours from the delivery of each phase.
